Shopping Day

Unfortunately I woke up on day three in Paris with a cold, and it was also bloody freezing outside – something like 3 degrees Calcius – and my enthusiasm for being on the other side of the world had temporarily run out.  I wanted to be at home, in my own bed, looking at summer sun outside.  I was also rapidly running out of enthusiasm for sharing a room with 11 other people, and I am equally sure they were running out of enthusiasm to share a room with Snotty in the Corner… so I decided to change my booking and get a private room for the next two nights.  Some fault with the booking system meant that upgrading my room was extremely cheap, and the staff on reception were so frazzled with multiple check-ins that they didn’t have time to work out how to charge me more.  I explained in my French that I was perfectly happy not to pay any more money.
